Ian Roderick

Business Manager, Head of Protection

I have worked in financial services for over 30 years and have extensive experience in team management, business development and supervision. I am a passionate advocate of ensuring that clients protection needs are being reviewed and addressed. Working  with  advisers to navigate this complex area, we ensure that clients benefit from full holistic financial planning advice and all their protection needs are satisfied.

I have supported and coached many advisers with vastly differing experience and knowledge, ranging from junior advisers in their first advisory role to highly experienced wealth managers. I have been able to share my knowledge and help develop these advisers to ensure great client outcomes. I really enjoy helping advisers develop and flourish within their roles.

Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of organisations within the financial services sector, both in the UK, mainland Europe and Gibraltar. My experience has helped me enhance and expand my knowledge of “all things protection related” from Life Assurance, Critical illness, Income Protection and Inheritance Tax mitigation.

I have a degree in Law and CII Diploma in Financial Planning.

I work closely with the Business Partner and the wider leadership team to support strategic developments across the advisory team,  promoting the importance for our clients to have their protection needs met.  I attend client meetings with advisers to support them in advising clients on the more complex protection needs, be this personal, corporate or Inheritance Tax focused.

On a personal level, I am a father to three grown-up children who are all now developing their own careers which leaves me plenty of spare time to indulge my great love of open water swimming, rugby, Formula 1 and ice hockey. I am a member and one of the vice presidents of Royal Wootton Bassett RFC. Despite no longer living there, I still have many friends in Gibraltar and my holidays are always “back on the Rock”.
